The first day, the kid comes home and dad says, “What did you learn today, son?”

“I learned the first four notes on the fourth string,” says junior.

The second day, dad says, “What did you learn today?”

The kid says, “I learned the first four notes on the third string.”

The third day, “What did you learn today, son?”

“The first four notes on the second string.”

Fourth day, the kid is late, and later, and when he finally gets home, his dad says, “How was your lesson today?”

“I couldn’t make it to the lesson today, dad. I had a gig.”
